The hosts took the lead just before halftime when Kai Havertz converted from the penalty spot after a VAR review awarded Germany a spot-kick.

Ghana responded strongly in the second half and levelled in the 70th minute through Issahaku Fatawu, who fired a superb first-time strike from outside the box into the bottom corner to make it 1-1.

The Black Stars pushed for a winner, with Jordan Ayew striking the post and Antoine Semenyo threatening late on, but they were unable to convert their chances.Germany, however, made their pressure count in the closing stages. In the 88th minute, Undav latched onto a precise pass inside the box and finished clinically into the top corner to restore the hosts’ lead.

Ghana made late substitutions in a bid to salvage a result, but Germany held firm through added time to secure the win.

The result highlights Germany’s resilience, while Ghana will rue missed opportunities after a spirited second-half performance.
