Oto-Awori Chairman Swears In SLG, Supervisors, Advisers; Charges Them on Service, Transparency

The Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area, Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun, has urged newly appointed officials of the council to align with the administration’s vision and work collectively to deepen development across the council area.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at the council secretariat, the chairman charged the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisors and Special Advisers to see their appointments as a call to service and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to community growth.

Hon. Kareem emphasised that transparency, accountability and dedication must remain the guiding principles of their service, noting that the success of the administration would largely depend on the commitment and effectiveness of those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.

He also highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the council, including improvements in infrastructure, enhanced healthcare delivery and initiatives designed to support small-scale businesses. According to him, sustaining these gains requires teamwork and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of residents.

In his remarks, the traditional ruler of Ijanikin Kingdom, Oba Momodu Afolabi Ashafa, urged the newly appointed officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by supporting the developmental agenda of the administration.

Also speaking at the event, the lawmaker representing Ojo Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surajudeen Tijani, described the appointments as a major responsibility and encouraged the officials to discharge their duties with dedication, integrity and a strong sense of service to the people.

Those sworn in include the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Ajose Tekobo Ezekiel, alongside Supervisors and Special Advisers: Hon. Obanla Kazeem Adewale, Hon. Bello Adeniyi Jelili, Hon. Akapo Oluwabunmi Moyinoluwa, Hon. Kasali Kazeem Adebayo, Hon. Agbebiyi Micheal Damilare, Hon. Sanni Kazeem Oluwasegun, Hon. Muyibi Abdulmojeed Olanrewaju, Hon. Sule Taiwo Hassan, Hon. Jimoh Rahmon Orelope, Hon. Sanni Bashiru Adeshina, Hon. Ojelabi Anu Love and Hon. Falade Ibukun.

The newly inaugurated officials pledged their commitment to supporting the administration’s policies and programmes while promoting inclusive governance and responsive leadership.

The ceremony drew traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders and other dignitaries, who expressed optimism that the appointments would further strengthen governance and accelerate development across the council area.
