The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a detailed schedule of activities for its 2025/2026 nationwide congresses, covering ward, local government, state and zonal levels, and culminating in the party’s national convention.

The timetable was made public on Saturday by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, via his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle. It is signed by Basiru and anchored on the provisions of Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution, which guide the conduct of congresses and the election of party officials at all levels.

According to the schedule, the process will commence with the launch of a nationwide membership e-registration exercise on Monday, December 1, 2025. The exercise is expected to run until January 30, 2026, serving as a foundation for participation in the congresses.

The party will issue formal notices of congresses to its state chapters and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on February 2, 2026. This will be followed by the sale and submission of nomination forms for ward and local government area (LGA) congresses between February 4 and February 9, 2026.

Screening committees for ward and LGA positions will be inaugurated on February 10, with the screening of aspirants scheduled to hold from February 11 to February 13. Ward congresses will take place nationwide on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, while appeals arising from the ward congresses will be considered on February 19.

LGA congresses, which will also involve the election of three delegates to the national convention — including at least one female delegate — are slated for February 20, 2026. Appeals from the LGA congresses will be heard on February 21.

At the state level, the purchase of nomination forms for state executive positions is scheduled to hold from February 23 to February 27. Screening and appeals for state executive positions will take place between late February and early March 2026, while state congresses are fixed for Saturday, March 7, 2026. Appeals arising from the state congresses will be entertained between March 9 and March 11.

The party will thereafter proceed to zonal congresses. Purchase and submission of forms for zonal offices and participation in the national convention are scheduled for March 12 to March 17, 2026. Zonal congress committees will be inaugurated on March 18, followed by the screening of aspirants on March 19 and 20.

Zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones are scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The designated zonal centres are Ibadan for the South West, Enugu for the South East, Rivers/Cross River for the South South, Kaduna for the North West, Gombe/Bauchi for the North East, and Nasarawa for the North Central. Appeals from the zonal congresses will be heard on March 23.

The timetable further shows that the APC National Convention will hold over four days, from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026, marking the climax of the party’s nationwide congress activities.
