6th Legislative Arm of Onigbongbo LCDA Holds Strategic Meeting with Council Management Team
The 6th Legislative Arm of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, held a strategic familiarization meeting with the Council Management Team led by the Council Manager, Mr. Oshineye Abiodun.
The meeting, held at the Council Secretariat, was aimed at fostering mutual understanding between the legislative and administrative arms of the council, as well as strengthening collaboration for effective local governance.
In his opening remarks, the Leader of the House, Hon. Francis Nkwo, emphasized the importance of synergy between the councillors and the management staff in driving development at the grassroots. He noted that both arms must work in harmony to ensure that legislative decisions align with the administrative capacity to implement them efficiently.
According to the council leadership, the meeting provided a platform to deliberate on key recommendations and decisions that directly impact service delivery and the overall well-being of residents within the LCDA.
The newly constituted committees of the 6th Legislative Assembly were also unveiled during the session as follows:
- Finance & Appropriation / Education / Tourism & Interpersonal Relations – Hon. Francis Nkwo (Chairman)
- Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation, Marriage and Information – Hon. Dosumu Yusuf KK. (Chairman)
- Agriculture, Social Services and Youth & Sports – Hon. David Olamide Orukpe (Chairman)
- Health, Chieftaincy – Hon. Olamilekan Ige Jelili (Chairman)
- Environment / Business Rule Committee – Hon. Omotesho P. Folu (Chairman)
- Works & Infrastructure, Petition Committee – Hon. Alabi A. Yusuf (Chairman)
The deliberation reaffirmed the council’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-oriented governance.
