Lagos APC reaffirms commitment to renewal, accountability and sustainable governance

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to renewal, accountability, and sustainable political dominance — values that have continued to position the party as the model of organized and visionary governance in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to renewal, accountability, and sustainable political dominance — values that have continued to position the party as the model of organized and visionary governance in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

This reaffirmation was made at the recently held Lagos State APC Stakeholders’ Forum, a strategic gathering of party leaders, elected representatives, and grassroots members, which underscored the ruling party’s culture of self-assessment, internal discipline, and progressive continuity.

A Tradition of Renewal and a Culture of Results

Convened under the leadership of the State Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, the forum highlighted the Lagos APC’s long-standing philosophy of continuous reinvention — refining its strategies, strengthening its structures, and deepening internal democracy to remain responsive to the aspirations of Lagosians.

Party stakeholders reviewed achievements, assessed emerging trends, and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to good governance and sustainable development, ensuring Lagos continues to lead as the benchmark for political stability and effective leadership in Nigeria.

Accountability as a Core Obligation

A major resolution from the forum was the call for accountability and transparency from all elected and appointed officials at every level of government.

Leaders emphasized that political power is a sacred trust from the people, and every office holder under the APC platform must periodically render an account of stewardship. The Lagos APC, they noted, remains the conscience and internal check of government, ensuring that performance matches promises.

Unlike other political platforms that go dormant after elections, the APC in Lagos maintains a year-round governance engagement model, constantly assessing policy outcomes and sustaining feedback between government and the electorate.

The Tinubu Legacy of Continuity and Competence

The Lagos APC also reiterated its pride in being the cradle of the Tinubu School of Politics — a model built on strategic planning, competence, and continuity.

From Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, Lagos has maintained a seamless tradition of visionary governance and policy execution — a model now being replicated nationally through the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

Reinvention, Relevance, and the Opposition’s Decline

Stakeholders noted that while the APC continues to organize, evolve, and prepare for future challenges, the opposition remains divided, disorganized, and increasingly irrelevant.

According to the communiqué, the difference between the APC and its rivals is clear — “One is building, the other is bickering.”

At this rate, party leaders predicted that Lagosians — and Nigerians at large — will continue to embrace purposeful governance over political noise, with Lagos standing tall as the symbol of that transformation.

Sustainability Through Structure and Strategy

The forum reaffirmed that the strength of the Lagos APC lies in its structure, mentorship, and inclusiveness — ensuring continuity of leadership and the steady grooming of competent successors across generations.

Members agreed that unity of purpose, ideological consistency, and institutional discipline will remain the foundation of the party’s sustained dominance at all levels of governance.

A Message of Confidence and Continuity

In his closing message, the Lagos APC urged members to remain united and steadfast, emphasizing that the strength of the party lies not in slogans, but in structures — not in propaganda, but in performance.

While the opposition grapples with crisis and disunity, the Lagos APC, under the leadership of Governor Sanwo-Olu and the guidance of President Tinubu, continues to lead, deliver, and reinvent itself — for success, accountability, and sustainability.
