The Lagos State Chapter of the Presidential Coalition Committee (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on party members and residents to ensure they register and collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections to avoid being disenfranchised.

The call was made during a massive gathering of PCC members at the Police College, Ikeja, where new structures and over 40,000 street captains were inaugurated to drive grassroots mobilisation across the state.
Speaking at the event, the PCC State Coordinator and Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, said the exercise was a strategic move to deepen civic participation and strengthen democracy from the community level.

“Today’s event is not a campaign but a mobilisation effort. We are inaugurating street captains who will go into their communities to encourage residents, especially those who have just turned 18 or are yet to register, to obtain their PVCs,” Faleke said.
He charged the newly inaugurated captains to take the message to every household across the 57 councils and 376 wards of Lagos, stressing that the PVC remains the only tool for active participation in governance.
“Without the PVC, you cannot have a voice in governance. Each of you should bring at least five new registrants. Go all out there and make it happen,” he urged.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Planning Committee of PCC Lagos, Barr. Kolade Alabi, described the initiative as part of ongoing efforts to deepen democracy, sustain civic engagement, and strengthen public confidence in governance.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is already delivering tangible results in governance, institutional reforms, and economic transformation.

“Under President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, our great party continues to redefine governance, strengthen institutions, and rekindle faith in the Nigerian dream,” Alabi stated.
“His fiscal and monetary reforms, though demanding, are necessary to build a self-reliant and resilient economy. Through the Renewed Hope Agenda, we are witnessing increased investor confidence, improved revenue generation, and greater accountability.”
The event attracted party leaders, youth groups, and community representatives, all reaffirming their commitment to ensuring Lagos remains a model for grassroots political participation and voter mobilisation in Nigeria.
