Lagos APC mocks ADC’S 2027 victory claim, calls it“Political Delusion”

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as “laughable” the claim by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it is targeting victory in the 2027 general elections, describing the opposition party’s statement as a “comedy of self-deception.”

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as “laughable” the claim by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it is targeting victory in the 2027 general elections, describing the opposition party’s statement as a “comedy of self-deception.”

In a statement issued on Monday, the Lagos APC Spokesman, Hon. (Mogaji) Seye Oladejo, said the ADC’s declaration that “failure is not an option” in 2027 was both unrealistic and delusional, given the party’s lack of visible political structure or nationwide presence.

Oladejo described the ADC as “a party that has been practically invisible on Nigeria’s political radar,” noting that its relevance had long faded since it last made headlines as a temporary refuge for disenchanted politicians.

“The ADC’s boast of 2027 victory is akin to a political mirage — the closer they think they are to power, the farther it moves away,” he said. “If empty press statements and wishful thinking could win elections, perhaps the ADC would stand a chance.”

The APC spokesman further stated that the opposition party’s internal crisis and public appeal for loyalty from its members were clear indicators of instability and lack of cohesion.

“A party in perpetual crisis over membership discipline and identity cannot possibly be setting its sights on national victory,” Oladejo said, adding that “the ADC has become the political joke of the coming elections.”

He argued that Nigerians were not in the mood for “political jokes,” stressing that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the country was witnessing progress in infrastructure, economic stabilization, and investor confidence.

Oladejo maintained that the APC remained the only party with the “pedigree, performance, and people’s mandate to lead,” urging the ADC to “wake up to the reality” of its political insignificance.

“Politics is serious business, not a circus show,” he concluded.
