Super Falcons’ Rinsola Babajide joins AS Roma

Super Falcons forward, Omorinsola Babajide, has completed a move to Italian Serie A Women’s side, AS Roma.

Super Falcons forward, Omorinsola Babajide, has completed a move to Italian Serie A Women’s side, AS Roma.

Roma announced the deal on Monday, confirming that the 26-year-old signed a two-year contract after leaving Spanish club UD Tenerife as a free agent in May.

Reacting to the move on X, Babajide wrote “happy to finally announce that I’ve signed for @ASRomaFemminile. I’m so excited to see what we can achieve together. Back in red and ready for this incredible new chapter. Grateful to God for guiding me through every step of this journey. My heart is full, especially having my mum beside me along the way.”

The former Liverpool and Real Betis winger will wear jersey number 30 at her new club Babajide is now the second Nigerian at Roma, alongside Super Falcons teammate, Shukurat Oladipo. She is expected to join her new teammates after the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
