It has been reported that Doyin Okupe, former spokesperson for the President, has passed away at the age of 72 years

It has been reported that Doyin Okupe, former spokesperson for the President, has passed away at the age of 72 years.

His death was confirmed on Friday, 7th March, 2025, after a reported battle with cancer. Okupe held the position of Director-General for Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign before resigning due to a court conviction for money laundering.

After the 2023 general election, he resigned from the Labour Party and became a vocal supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He also served as a senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
