Valentine Special: Lagos lawmaker empowers 500 widows with cash gifts, food items

The initiative, tagged A Widows’ Valentine Special, took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, at The Unity Centre (Constituency Office), Elliot Bus Stop, Ifako-Ijaiye.

The event, now in its fourth edition, provided financial relief and essential support to widows in the constituency. The food items distributed included rice, garri, semo, spaghetti, vegetable oil, tomato paste, salt, sugar, custard, among others.

Temitope emphasised the importance of uplifting vulnerable women, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and cared for.

“Widows play a vital role in our society, yet many face economic hardship. This initiative is about showing them love, care, and ensuring they are not forgotten, he stated.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the lawmaker’s generosity, saying the financial and material support would help ease their burdens.

The event was graced by traditional rulers, community leaders, as well as religious and political figures, all of whom commended Hon. Adewale Temitope for his continuous dedication to empowering the people.
