Nigerian govt reaffirms commitment to SDGs as 2025 begins

With barely five years to the 2030 terminal date of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, the Federal Government of Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to advancing the Global Agenda.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs (SSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, OFR gave this assurance in her message to celebrate the new year.

The SSA to the President assured Nigerians of continued efforts to implement transformative policies and programs aimed at fostering sustainable growth and development.

Princess Orelope-Adefulire emphasized the government’s dedication to delivering impactful, pro-poor initiatives in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She expressed confidence that these measures would help build a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Nigeria.

“With 2025 upon us, we remain steadfast in our mission to strengthen the implementation of the SDGs in Nigeria. Together, we can build a future defined by progress, peace, and fulfillment for all.” She stated.

The SSAP-SDGs further encouraged Nigerians to unite in collective action, emphasizing that collaboration is crucial to achieving sustainable development.

The Renewed Hope Agenda, which underpins these initiatives, is expected to drive significant progress toward creating a future where no one is left behind. The renewed commitment sets a positive tone for 2025, signaling Nigeria’s determination to meet its development targets during the Decade of Action for the SDGs.
