The Convener of OMITUNTUN Good Governance Advocacy group, Mr. Abisola Omisore has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and followers of Hon. Oladotun Olakanle, the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA who passed away in Lagos earlier today, 2nd November 2024.
In a condolence message signed by the people-friendly philanthropist and advocate, Hon. Omisore expressed shock and disbelief over the death of the hardworking Council Mayor.
According to the message, Omisore said, “The news of the demise of Hon Oladotun Olakanle, the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, in Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos, in the early hours of today, came to me as rude shock and I wish it was not true.
Hon. Olakanle, who we popularly called DOTCOM, was a key factor and major influence in the development of Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State in general.
His developmental impacts and scorecard in Onigbongbo LCDA in the last couple of years are quite impressive and undeniable, just as his passion for the well-being of the downtrodden.
He is one of the few young people in leadership who sought to give grassroots governance a new definition.
His death at this time is a big blow to all lovers of good governance in Ikeja Federal Constituency. We will surely miss him, but we can’t question God.
On behalf of my family and the entire OMITUNTUN good governance advocacy group, I want to express my deep condolences to the family of the late Chairman and the people of Onigbongbo LCDA over this sad loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this moment.
May his shortcomings be forgiven, and may God strengthen the family at this critical period.”
Rest in power, great patriot.”
