Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman scored the winning goal and also provided an assist for Atalanta to beat Fiorentina 3-2 in the Italian Serie A, at home in Bergamo.
It was a much-needed win for the UEFA Europa League holders after they lost their previous two games 2-1 at Torino and 4-0 at champions Inter Milan.
Atalanta fell behind at home after just 15 minutes, Martinez put Fiorentina ahead and Retegui netted the equalizer to drew level six minutes later with the Super Eagles star providing the assist.
Italian star Moise Kean put the away side ahead again and Belgian international Ketelaere equalized.
Just before the halftime, Lookman settled the game with the winning goal and all the efforts of Fiorentina to come back in the second half proved abortive.
Atalanta now have six points from four matches.
Lookman has been in good form since the start of the season and his goals contributed to the Super Eagles 3-0 win over Benin in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
