The retreat commenced with an intellectually stimulating session by Dr. Olusoga Badejo, who expounded on the intricate dynamics of “coping with the fuel subsidy removal in Ojodu LCDA: The Challenges and Solutions.” Dr. Badejo’s insightful discourse shed light on the localized impacts of the subsidy removal, offering strategic approaches to navigate the challenges and potential solutions tailored for the community’s welfare.

Continuing the illuminating series of discussions, Mr. Ambali took the stage, articulating the profound impact of procurement plans on local government administration. His discourse delved into the intricacies of efficient procurement strategies designed to optimize resources, foster transparency, and bolster community-oriented initiatives within Ojodu LCDA.

The third lecture of the day was delivered by the erudite Mr. Patrick Omilani, emphasizing “Strategic Fiscal Planning on AI for Smart Government Budgeting.” His presentation underscored the integration of cutting-edge technologies, specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), in formulating astute fiscal plans. Mr. Omilani highlighted how leveraging AI could result in smarter and more adaptive budgeting mechanisms, aligning with the LCDA’s vision of community-centric fiscal policies.

The meeting climaxed with the discussion on the performance of the Y2023 budget. Hon. Odunmbaku charged the revenue-generating units and all stakeholders of the Council to intensify efforts on increasing the Council’s IGR by employing all available technology and ideas in order to achieve the administration’s objectives and ensure the citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.May be an image of 9 people, table and text

Additionally, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku, during the 3-day Budget Retreat, reiterated a steadfast commitment to ensuring citizens’ welfare through grassroots governance. Emphasizing the 2024 Budget’s theme of ‘Community-driven Budget,’ he highlighted the administration’s determination to give back to the community amidst economic challenges, prioritizing citizen welfare through numerous people-centric projects and initiatives.
