Woman found dead with ripped stomach in Ikotun hotel

A 26-year-old woman, Jennifer Dan, has been found dead at a hotel in Ikotun, Lagos, and her suspected killer nabbed by the Police. The woman lodged in the hotel with a 30-year-old man, Wale Samuel, at about 8:00a.m. before the incident.

Samuel, who confessed to the crime, did not state why he killed the lady. Spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, on Thursday, said the suspect will soon be charged to court.

He said: “On September 11, 2023, at about 11.a.m., one Solomon reported at the Ikotun Division that at about 8:00a.m., same day, Dan, one of his lodgers was found to have been killed in her hotel room by a 30-year-old man seen last with her.

“Based on the report, a team of detectives was mobilised to the scene, and the deceased was seen lying on the floor with her stomach pierced with a scissor.

“Her remains were evacuated, and the suspect arrested at his hideout in the Ikotun area. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.”
