Marine Captain Dosunmu Adebayo Olaobaoluwaju Kamaldeen, has felicitated with the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy Mr Gboyega Oyetola, on his new appointment and declared support for the ministry.

Captain Dosunmu in a chat with Lagos Panorama alluded that the Maritime industry is seriously in need of revamping and overhauling and he is ready with his other marine experts to support the Minister and the Federal Government with their wealth of experience in the marine environment to achieve required positive results.

He further opined “Onward Together, we say at sea or in the maritime terrain, injury to one is an injury to all. We shall navigate safely in this President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration with the aim of achieving his Renewed Hope Agenda in the Maritime and other sectors” the Marine Captain affirmed.

He also reiterated that the Maritime industry which include Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria Shippers Council, and National Inland Waterways Authority urgently need revamping and overhauling.

The Marine Captain noted that the new ministry (Marine and Blue Economy) will create massive and good jobs opportunity, block loopholes and every revenue leakages and inturn increase revenue in the maritime industry.

He asserted that “it will create a security checks for enabling environment for businesses to thrive, it will usher in foreign investors, it will create Marine tourism opportunities by utilising the potentials on our coast line and at sea, it will curb illegal activities, it will enable the revival of the Nigeria National Shipping line (NNSL), the National carrier that was liquidated since 1995”.

“Adequate and required training for the intending or active seafarers” he concluded.
