Two dead, seven injured in Lagos multiple accident

Two persons have been killed and seven others injured in a multiple vehicular accidents involving two trucks and six cars at Alaka, Surulere area of Lagos.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, told PM NEWS that the accident took place at Alaka, inward Stadium.Two dead, seven injured in Lagos multiple accident

He said upon arrival at the incident scene, a multiple vehicular accident involving two trucks and six cars was found to have occurred.

Oke-Osanyintolu said initial investigations revealed that a blue coloured flat bed Mack truck with registration number unknown reportedly lost control of its brake while descending the bridge and rammed into the vehicles in front of it.

“Two lives were lost (1 adult female and 1 adult male) while a total of 7 people ( 3 adult males and 2 adult females) suffered various degrees of injuries and have been rushed to the FMC, Yaba,” he revealed.

He added that three female escaped from the accident unscathed.

The LASEMA boss stated that the vehicles involved in the accident were a flat bed truck with registration number unknown, blue Toyota corolla with registration number LND-217GX, grey coloured Toyota Rav 4 with registration number LSD-406AU, blue coloured Toyota Camry with registration number AKD-606HH, an Isuzu commercial minibus (korope) with registration number unknown and a white coloured truck.

“Responders include LASEMA Response Team, LASEMA Paramedics, FRSC, LASTMA, LASAMBUS, LASG FIRE and Nigeria Police,” he said.
