President Bola Tinubu on Monday assured Nigeria’s working population that his administration would soon review salaries upwards.

President Bola Tinubu on Monday assured Nigeria’s working population that his administration would soon review salaries upwards.

Tinubu said his administration is collaborating with the Labour unions to introduce a new national minimum wage for workers.

“I want to tell our workers this: your salary review is coming,” Tinubu said in his nationwide broadcast on the current economic challenges in the country.

Tinubu’s comments coincide with ongoing deliberations between the organised labour and the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives presided over by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

At the meeting, both parties are to deliberate on a new minimum wage.

“Once we agree on the new minimum wage and general upward review, we will make budget provision for it for immediate implementation,” he said.
