Lagos Former Attorney General, Adeniji Kazeem elected as Chairman Isale Eko Descendants’ Union

Former Lagos State Attorney General, Commissioner for Justice and Grandson of Oba Musendiku Adeniji-Adele II (departed 19th Oba Of Lagos 1949-1964) Mr. Adeniji Kazeem SAN has been elected as the new Chairman of the Isale Eko Descendants’ Union( IDU).

… Elected for a three year term

Former Lagos State Attorney General, Commissioner for Justice and Grandson of Oba Musendiku Adeniji-Adele II (departed 19th Oba Of Lagos 1949-1964) Mr. Adeniji Kazeem SAN has been elected as the new Chairman of the Isale Eko Descendants’ Union( IDU).

He was unanimously elected for a three year term at the Annual General meeting of the 23 ll Union held on 23rd June 2023 at Isale-Eko Descendants’Union secretariat at No 8 Iga Idungaran Street , Isale-Eko, Lagos Island, Lagos.

He takes over from Mr. Yomi Tokosi a distinguished Economist and Banker who held sway for the past three years.

Also elected to handle the affairs of the IDU for a new term are Mr. Aderemi Bashua SAN (Vice Chairman), Prince Adewale Ojora (General Secretary), Omolola Adele -Oso (Financial Secretary), Lanre Shasore (Culture Secretary), Dale Ajayi-Bembe (Deputy General Secretary) and Yomi Suenu (Welfare Secretary).

Isale Eko Descendants Union has over the years been a strong advocate for community based rights including protection of its cultural heritage, promotion of healthcare and advancement of educational rights for its members.

Only recently the IDU has complained vehemently about the defamation of Isale Eko and desecration of the iconic Eyo masquerade in a movie called GANGS OF LAGOS and has gone ahead to institute legal action against several parties involved in the production and licensing of the movie.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the first civilian governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, as the ‘last of the political titans’.
