President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Thursday advocated better welfare for judges to aid the judiciary’s fight against corruption in Nigeria.

Tinubu said this inaugurating a Magistrate court complex in Rivers State on the invitation of Governor Nyesom Wike.

“I take a different angle to what Wike has done here today, he is fighting corruption,” Tinubu said. “If you don’t want your judges to be corrupt, you must pay attention to their welfare.”

Tinubu further said that his government will review all issues affecting judges when he takes over as the president on May 29.

“We don’t want our judges to compromise justice, we will review all of the issues affecting them in a policy think tank,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu had on Wednesday commissioned the Rumuokwuta-Rumuola Flyover in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Tinubu promised to work for the country without marginalising any part in areas of development.

“I will not marginalise any region, but will leave legacy projects across the length and breadth of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.

The president-elect is on a two-day visit to the state to inaugurate projects executed by the Wike-led administration.
