296 new COVID-19 cases recorded in 16 states, FCT

Nigeria’s confirmed cases of coronavirus reached 53,317 on Thursday night following 296 fresh infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in an update.

Plateau recorded 85 of the 296 cases, followed by Enugu with 46, Oyo with 31 and Lagos 21.

The rest are: “Plateau-85, Enugu-46, Oyo-31, Lagos-21, Rivers-20, FCT-15 Kaduna-13, Bauchi-12, Delta-11, Ekiti-11, Akwa Ibom-7, Ebonyi-6, Kwara-5, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Gombe-3, Niger-2”

The total confirmed cases so far in Nigeria now stands at 53,317 of which 40,726 have been discharged.

However, the infection has claimed 1,011 lives.
