The endorsement was made at the 2025 APC Stakeholders’ Forum, held on Tuesday at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The high-profile gathering drew the crème of Lagos politics — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; Member House Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Finance, Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke; former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN); Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi; Senator Tokunbo Abiru; and House of Representatives Caucus Leader, Hon. Dolapo Badru.

Also in attendance were APC National Secretary, Dr. Ajibola Basiru (representing National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda), State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, members of the State Assembly, council chairmen, councillors, and party stalwarts from all 57 LGAs and LCDAs.

Sanwo-Olu: Tinubu Has Surpassed Expectations

Leading the endorsement, Governor Sanwo-Olu declared that President Tinubu’s performance in less than two years had “surpassed expectations,” particularly in oil, gas, and fiscal reforms.

“President Tinubu has laid the foundation for sustainable economic transformation,” the governor said. “His leadership has stabilized national direction and restored global confidence in Nigeria’s capacity. Lagos APC proudly stands with him for another term in 2027.”

Ojelabi Unveils ₦20m Voter Mobilization Prize, Refund for Aspirants

APC State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, applauded members’ commitment and unveiled fresh incentives to boost participation ahead of the 2027 elections.

He announced a ₦20 million cash prize for the local government with the highest number of newly registered voters and ₦5 million for the winning political ward.

“The journey to victory in 2027 starts now,” Ojelabi declared. “We must mobilize, register, and ensure every member collects their PVC. Every vote will count.”

He also disclosed plans to refund nomination fees to aspirants who lost in the recent council elections but were not appointed as aides. “No loyal member will be abandoned,” he assured.

Fashola, Olusi Call for a Reward Culture

Former Governor and ex-Minister, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), stressed the urgent need for a reward system that recognizes loyal grassroots members.

“Our members give their time, resources, and energy — they must be engaged and appreciated,” Fashola said. “Voter registration is growing, but turnout is declining. We must reverse this apathy.”

He lamented that less than 30 percent of Nigeria’s 93 million registered voters participated in the 2023 elections, warning that disengagement weakens democracy.

GAC Chairman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, echoed Fashola’s call, urging elected officials to reconnect with the people. “Some of our officers have drifted away from the grassroots. We must rebuild communication and strengthen our base,” he said.

National Leaders, Lawmakers Reaffirm Support for Tinubu

Representing the APC National Chairman, Dr. Ajibola Basiru called for intensified youth engagement and narrative control, dismissing fears that cross-party defections were eroding democracy.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda remains a national movement,” Basiru said. “Every Nigerian still enjoys the freedom to associate politically.”

Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Hon. Dolapo Badru outlined the contributions of Lagos lawmakers to Tinubu’s administration, while Minister of State for Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, led other federal appointees to present performance scorecards under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The forum also served as a platform for accountability and feedback, as Lagos APC reaffirmed its readiness to deliver a resounding victory for President Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.
