Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, will on Friday, October 30, 2026, unveil his manifesto, outlining his vision, policy priorities and development agenda for the state.

Hamzat said his proposed administration would focus on sustaining existing achievements, addressing areas requiring greater attention and creating more opportunities for residents to thrive.

He emphasised that the future of Lagos must be people-centred, with government policies reflecting the aspirations, concerns and everyday realities of residents across the state.

On infrastructure, the APC candidate pledged to prioritise the completion and interconnection of rail lines, improve road and water transportation, expand access to affordable housing, strengthen security and upgrade healthcare services across Lagos’ 57 local government areas and local council development areas (LCDAs).

He stressed that every community deserves safe roads, dependable public services and opportunities for economic prosperity.

Hamzat also identified education, skills acquisition and job creation as key pillars of his vision, promising to equip young people with relevant knowledge, technological expertise and practical skills to compete in a changing economy.

He added that his administration would support entrepreneurs and small businesses while promoting equal access to opportunities irrespective of background, gender, religion or place of origin.

On environmental sustainability, the governorship candidate highlighted improved waste management, flood prevention, better drainage systems and the protection of coastal communities as priority areas.

He further pledged to promote responsible governance, support traders and businesses, and ensure that public resources deliver tangible benefits to the people.

According to Hamzat, sustainable development requires building on the foundations laid by successive administrations, preserving successful policies, addressing existing shortcomings and embracing innovative solutions to meet Lagos’ evolving needs.

He expressed his commitment to building a safer, more accessible, prosperous and inclusive Lagos where opportunities reach every community and residents have a meaningful stake in the state’s future.

“Progress is not just about how far we have come but how many lives we improve along the way,” Hamzat stated, reaffirming his commitment to accountability, purposeful leadership and people-oriented governance.

He described the forthcoming manifesto as a declaration of his commitment to advancing Lagos’ development and placing residents at the centre of government decisions.

“That is my PROMISE,” he declared.
