The Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, representing Ikeja Constituency II, on Monday, March 30, 2026, rolled out his Renewed Hope Super Empowerment Programme 2026, benefiting thousands of constituents across the district.
The large-scale empowerment initiative, held at the LTV Ground in Agidingbi, attracted party leaders, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional rulers, religious leaders, and party faithful from across Ikeja Constituency II.
Over 2,000 beneficiaries received a wide range of empowerment items, including vocational tools, business equipment, vehicles, and financial grants.

Notably, 500 constituents received ₦100,000 each, while 50 beneficiaries were given POS machines alongside ₦50,000 start-up capital to boost small-scale
businesses.
To strengthen grassroots mobilization and party structure, two Toyota Hiace buses were donated to Ojodu and Ikeja Local Government Areas.
In addition, 50 solar energy stations were distributed to support both commercial and domestic use.
The programme also catered to artisans and entrepreneurs, with 25 hairdressing kits and 25 complete barbing kits distributed. Youth development was prioritized through the provision of 20 laptops for ICT-driven beneficiaries, while 20 deep freezers were allocated to market women.
Security agencies were not left out, as they received 10 generators and 10 standing fans to enhance operational efficiency. Furthermore, 20 communities and estates benefitted from ₦500,000 each for developmental support, while 10 widows received ₦100,000 each as welfare assistance.
In his address, Hon. Kasunmu expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to impact lives, describing the initiative as a reflection of his commitment to people-centered governance.
He noted that the empowerment programme was a fulfillment of his promise to go beyond legislative duties by delivering tangible improvements to constituents’ daily lives.
“This initiative underscores our shared vision of progress and our unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people. Governance must be practical and impactful,” he stated.

He also used the occasion to formally declare his intention to seek a fourth term in office and reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, commended Hon. Kasunmu’s efforts, urging constituents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the electoral process.
He emphasized the need for improved electoral outcomes in Ikeja in future elections.
Similarly the Chairman All Progressives Congress, APC Ikeja LGA , Hon. Adetoro Adebowale, cautioned party members against the use of derogatory language on social media, urging them to maintain decorum and focus on issue-based engagement.
A major highlight of the event was the celebration of Hon. Kasunmu’s birthday, which coincided with that of President Tinubu.
The occasion featured a ceremonial cake-cutting and interfaith prayers—offered by Christian, Muslim, and traditional leaders—for continued peace, progress, and electoral success in the forthcoming general elections.
