Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Ikeja Chapter with the Christian Association of Nigeria and Islamic religious leaders converged at the LTV Blue-Roof on Wednesday, to render prayers for the successful presidential aspiration of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had early this week told to the state house correspondents that he had informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his aspiration, to which the President reportedly asked him to go ahead.
Ikeja the political base of the former governor, hence the APC Ikeja leadership with the support of the Member House Representatives, Ikeja Constituency, Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke hosted the prayer session to commence the political drive for the APC stalwart’s formal declaration of interest to take a shot at the Presidency next year.
Dignitaries at the event include the Executive Chairmen Ikeja Local Government and Ojodu LCDA, Dr. Mojeed Balogun and Hon Dotun Olakanle respectively, Vice Chairman Ojodu LCDA, Hon Bunmi Oluyadi, the first Executive Chairman Ikeja LG, Mayor Alani Okikioposu, other Party leaders and members across the eighteen wards of Ikeja Federal Constituency were in attendance at the Blue-Roof venue.
The prayer sessions were conducted by Chief-Imam Abdul Azeez Abdur Rahman of the Local chapter League of Imams and Alfa and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ikeja Chapter, led by Reverend Israel Oyebanji.
Both religious leaders, Alhaji Abdur Rahman and Reverend Oyebanji described Asiwaju Tinubu as a detribalised politician, generous and heart of benevolence who deserves all the support needed to actualize his presidential aspiration.
The Chairman House Committee on Finance, Honourable Faleke said that the prayer was organised to put God first in the struggle to ensure that the presidential ambition of Asiwaju becomes a reality.
The Federal Lawmaker noted that “At last Asiwaju has spoken and we are happy that he has declared his intention to run. We’ve to put God first in this struggle because we believe that with God, all things are possible”.
Chairman APC Ikeja Alhaji Dally Adeokun also stated “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a tested and trusted leader, who has made several leaders and the solid foundation he laid as the governor of Lagos State 1999 to 2007 has invigorated rapid development in the state. So we earnestly need him to take Nigeria to the next level” the party chieftain averred.
Popular Gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele and Islamic singer, Sauty Arewa inspired attendees at the prayer session with beautiful performances.
