2023 presidency: Tinubu hits Ogun, meets with Awujale, other monarchs

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was in Ogun State on Saturday to meet with traditional rulers over his 2023 presidential ambition.

Tinubu was a the palace of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona to discuss his ambition with him and to seek his blessing.

The former governor of Lagos also visited the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and others.

He reportedly told the monarchs and other stakeholders to engage others, particularly those that were yet to understand the importance of zoning the presidency to the Southwest region, to enlighten and gather them behind the idea before the next election in the country.

Tinubu was accompanied by some chieftains of the party, including Prof. Tunde Samuel, Kemi Nelson, Lagos State former Deputy Governor, Femi Pedro; James Odunbaku, Dr. Tola Kasali, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Senator Gbenga Obadara, and Senator Anthony Adefuye, among others.
