A Niger Delta youth leader, Comrade Akiba Ekpeyong, has declared his group is backing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because of his track records.

The Secretary of the Niger Delta Youths Front, Cross River chapter said: “On Tinubu track record you’ll agree with me that nationally, Tinubu has built several youths who are occupying different leadership positions both within the polity and outside the polity in several sectors.”

“For a man who had invested so much on others nationally, for a man who has contributed so many for developing others not just Lagosians but they’re so many Nigerians, Hausa, Igbo, different ethnic groups that benefitted courtesy Tinubu’s narrative of empowerment.

“And because he raised so many others, those many others raises many others. That’s why you saw his primaries witnessing stepping down of people who came out to run for presidency and some of them withdrew because they saw others withdraw and they feel they owe him such level of gratitude.

“We as youths in the Niger Delta are supporting Tinubu because of that kind of past.”

Akinba added: “When you also talk about leadership at the level of presidency, many others who had opportunity to be governor, who are running for president today, check their records, they were either owing salaries, they were either using the government platform to have big ambition thereby depriving their state of adequate services.”

“So for us in the South, we support Tinubu because we’re sure that when Tinubu becomes President, having had the nature of giving out; having had the nature of raising people, having had the nature of making leaders, Nigeria will be greater with such a president.

“And as the people of South-South, if you look at the body language of Tinubu as it concerns our Seaports, he is going to open up the waterways and that will benefit us in the South-South, these were things that were not done by those who had opportunity before now.”
