Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has sent a touching message to Albiceleste supporters following their 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against Venezuela.

Messi said if God is willing, he and Argentina supporters will see in the World Cup in Qatar this year.

Lagos Panorama reports that Argentina defeated Venezuela 3-0 on Friday, thanks to goals from Nicolas Gonzalez, Angel Di Maria and Messi.

Argentina have already booked their spot in the World Cup in Qatar.

In a post via his Instagram account on Saturday, Messi thanked Argentina fans for their support so far in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward said: “I wanted to thank all the support you gave us in these Qualifiers.

“Luckily we were able to achieve the objective and we are going to see each other in Qatar if God willing… It is always incredible to play here in front of our people and what we experienced last night was impressive once again.

“Thank you and let’s go Argentina!!!”
