Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Thursday night defeated their Cameroonian counterparts 1-0 to qualify for the Semi-finals of the ongoing Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The victory also see the Falcons secure a ninth world cup ticket in a row.
Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal in the 57th minute to give the Super Falcons the edge.
A resolute defence from the Cameroonians left the match deadlocked at half-time after a dominant display from the Super Falcons
However, Rasheedat Ajibade’s 57th-minute headed goal was the difference between the African giants on the night.
She was assisted by Onumonu who got the ball to her to head home for Nigeria.
Nigeria will now play Morocco in the semifinal feature, while South Africa battle Zambia in the other pairing.
