As part of the yearly rituals of the Lagos State Government on every 14th July of the year, Hon Jelili Sulaimon, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government has called for the planting of more tress.
While addressing the audience at the just concluded tree planting program in the Local Government Secretariat, Akowonjo, Hon Jelili said “it is expedient to continue planting trees considering it’s many benefits.”
He added that “the health benefits of planting trees is immeasurable. Trees help in cleansing the air, as well as, keeping the environment cool”.
He also used the opportunity to state the need for everyone present or absent at the event to get there Permanent Voters’ card that will enable them to vote in 2023. “You PVC is your power” he said.
The year 2022 tree planting program was also witnessed by other governmental stakeholders including the Executive Vice Chairman, Hon Akinpelu Johnson, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Dare Ogunkoya, the Leader of Alimosho Local Government House, Hon Ahmed Obadina and the Council Manager Mr Victor Alivide. Others include High Chief Akibu Adebowale, the Chairman of Baales in Council in Alimosho LGA, the Supervisors & SAs, the Councillors, SSAs and other staffs of the Local Government.
