Reps Finance Committee Begins 2023–2025 Revenue Probe, Summons Finance Ministry, CAC, Customs

The Distinguished Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has announced the commencement of a key revenue oversight exercise by the House Committee on Finance.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page titled “Today’s Engagement,” Faleke disclosed that the Committee has begun its Revenue Monitoring Exercise as part of its constitutional oversight functions.

According to the Chairman House Committee on Finance, the exercise is designed to review revenues accrued to the Federal Government between 2023 and 2025, with the objective of promoting accountability, transparency, and improved fiscal performance across relevant institutions.
Agencies that appeared before the Committee on the first day of the exercise include the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Corporate Affairs Commission, and the Nigeria Customs Service.

Faleke noted that the engagement represents a significant step toward strengthening revenue generation mechanisms and ensuring proper remittances into government coffers.
