The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), will on Sunday commemorate his birthday anniversary with special prayers for victims of banditry, kidnapping, and other security challenges across Nigeria, alongside humanitarian outreach to vulnerable residents within Ikeja and neighbouring communities.

The celebration, which is expected to attract religious leaders, community stakeholders, youth groups, political associates, and residents, has been designed as a thanksgiving to God for His protection, guidance, and blessings upon the chairman, his family, and the administration of Ikeja Local Government.

A major highlight of the programme will be a Special Thanksgiving Service scheduled to hold at the Celestial Church of Christ, Archdiocese, Agidingbi, Ikeja, at noon. The service will be hosted by the Chairman of the Ikeja Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

According to the organisers, the thanksgiving gathering is intended not only to celebrate AKOD’s birthday but also to seek divine intervention in the nation’s growing security concerns, particularly the plight of citizens affected by banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.

As part of the activities, the council chairman is expected to visit selected churches and community centres within Ikeja and its environs to offer prayers for children, families, and other victims currently being held captive by criminal elements in various parts of the country.

The organisers further disclosed that AKOD would use the occasion to extend support to vulnerable and less privileged members of society through charitable initiatives aimed at alleviating hardship and improving living conditions.

They noted that the humanitarian aspect of the celebration reflects the chairman’s commitment to inclusive governance, social welfare, and community development, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or social affiliations.

The birthday activities will culminate in a grand reception organised by youth groups, political associates, and supporters across Ikeja Local Government in recognition of AKOD’s contributions to grassroots development and public service.

According to the organisers, the event will also provide an opportunity to celebrate achievements recorded by the local government administration over the past two years while reaffirming support for programmes and policies aimed at enhancing the welfare and well-being of residents.

They expressed optimism that the chairman would continue to record greater accomplishments in public service, wishing him good health, wisdom, and renewed strength as he marks another year of leadership and service to humanity.
