The record-breaking film was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tuned Adeoye.

The landmark achievement was confirmed by Akindele on her official social media platforms on Tuesday morning, where she celebrated the milestone and applauded the collective effort behind the production.

“We work hard, we see the results! Congratulations to the cast and crew of Behind the Scenes on hitting ₦2.5 billion. More milestones coming, guys!” she wrote.

Industry analysts have described the feat as a major milestone for Nollywood, reflecting the industry’s expanding commercial capacity and increasing global reach.

Behind the Scenes is still showing in cinemas nationwide across Nigeria, and is also screening in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, where it continues to record strong audience turnout.
