Man United defeat Leicester 1-0

Man United made it three wins in a row as Jadon Sancho’s early strike seals a 1-0 win and took Erik ten Hag’s team up to fifth, while Brendan Rodgers’s side remained at the bottom of the table.

Manchester United defeated Leicester City 1 – 0 in Thursday’s Premier League match.

Man United made it three wins in a row as Jadon Sancho’s early strike seals a 1-0 win and took Erik ten Hag’s team up to fifth, while Brendan Rodgers’s side remained at the bottom of the table.

Sancho had displayed great composure to round Leicester goalkeeper, Danny Ward.

Leicester responded after the first-half break as it appeared they needed to, after a flat first-half performance under Brendan Rodgers, and James Maddison went close.

But United made changes late on to close it out, bringing Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, who would now be staying at United as the transfer window closes, had missed out on two chances but the result moved Ten Hag’s side up to fifth in the table.

Jadon Sancho, speaking to BT Sport, had said, “It was a great team goal and I am happy to get the three points for the team.

“I have gotten to know the players a lot more after missing pre-season last year and I am really happy to score.

“We hoped to start the season with two wins but that woke us up and I am happy to get the third win today.”
