Ahead of the 2023 general election, youths of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North Central geopolitical zone have unveiled a campaign structure that will mobilise 10 million young Nigerians to vote for the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party in the zone.

Unveiling the structure in Abuja on Friday, the APC’s National Vice Chairman (North central), Alhaji Muazu Bawa Rijau, also named the Minister of State, FCT, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, as the head of the zonal advisory council for the project.

Rijau said the council would review the 2023 APC North-central Youth Campaign Strategies and action plan and make amendments where necessary, mobilise resources (financial and material support) necessary for the execution of the APC North-central youth campaign strategies and action plan, among others.

“Politics cannot be devoid of youth’s active participation. Hence, they are the leaders of tomorrow and as such, they are expected to be at the forefront in deciding who will lead them and prepare them for future leaders and that is the reason I deemed it necessary to allure them with this national assignment to ensure APC victory at all levels in the North Central come 2023 general election.

“Against the backdrop, having carefully observed the teeming youths across the six North Central states including FCT through North Central Youth Leader (Hon. Zubair Aliyu) we have decided to appoint those to pilot their affairs at the centre while they will further strategise and spread their tentacles across the states  for the 2023 election victory.”

Accepting her role, the minister described the members of the Advisory Council as sure-footed grassroots politicians and determined mobilisers in their communities that will leave no stone unturned in the task of ensuring that the party becomes triumphant in the general elections.

Aliyu called on the youth across all North-central states to own their future through participation in the democratic process, adding that the place of the Nigerian youth cannot be underestimated, considering the importance of the demographic to achieving a truly prosperous and peaceful nation.

She also urged the other five zones in the country to emulate and replicate such a strategy in their various geopolitical zones.

The APC zonal youth leader, Zubair Aliyu Rogun, promised to mobilize ten million North-central youth ahead of the 2023 electioneering campaigns of the APC.

“Today, we are rolling out our campaign action plans and we shall be working seriously to achieve our mission and vision of mobilising 10 million youths of the 24 million registered voters of North Central. We are ready to mobilise and deliver overwhelming youth votes to coast APC to victory at all levels in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
