
It was a joyful and colourful atmosphere yesterday as diverse people representing several fields of interest groups and society awaited anxiously the arrival of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his Entourage to Eti-Osa.

Accolades about the good works of the Governor and the Executive Chairmen(Hon.Saheed Adesegun Bankole, Eti-Osa LG, Hon. Ogundare John Campos, Eti-Osa East LCDA, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal, Ikoyi-Obalende, Hon. Princess Rasheedat Abiodun Adu, Iru-VI) heading the 4 zones in Eti-Osa LG, kept pouring in. Worthy of Note is the Goodwill message of Omooba Murphy Adetoro and Prince Tajudeen Olusi, who thanked the Governor for his excellent performance and impact in Eti-Osa, pointing out that the large turnout witnessed was a manifestation of the people’s love and dedication, seizing the opportunity to request for assistance in constructing a General Hospital within the LG. They urged the people to show appreciation and loyalty by continuously supporting the party and their initiative.
Hon. Noheem Adams, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, further enlightened the people about several projects the governor has approved and work is ongoing for the benefit of Eti-Osa residents. Example is the Ogombo Sangotedo alternative route which is currently 40% completed, BRT Park, amongst other numerous ongoing projects in the Local Government.


The Chief host of the event Hon. Ogundare John Campos in his address dedicated the newly built Ultra-Modern market and named it Rafiu Olufunmi Market in memory of the immediate past Chairman of Eti-Osa East LCDA, who passed on last year.
Governor Babajide Sanwoolu in his address was elated at the massive turnout of the people waiting patiently to receive him. He thanked the people for their unrelenting support and gave his assurances to keep impacting on the lives of the Eti-Osa people. He said in as much as Lagos state had always been autonomous long before the declaration of the Senate passing the LG autonomy bill, his working visit was to take stock of all developmental activities within Eti-Osa. He commended the efforts of the four Executive Chairmen for prudently managing resources to manage affairs of the Local Government and for working in tandem with the Lagos State THEMES Agenda, he also encouraged them to do more.
He further highlighted the enormous contribution of the state government working alongside with the four Councils to better Eti-Osa. He made mention of projects like the complete regeneration of Mobil road, Femi Okunu road, Queens Drive, Durosimi etti, Onikepo Akande, all the alternative circular roads on Admiralty road. Also are ongoing works on regional roads of about 10km from VGC leading to freedom way to decongest road traffic along Lekki-Epe Express Way. The Governor craved the people’s indulgence as regards the inconveniences being experienced daily due to traffic gridlock of that route because of the road project, he promised that work is being expedited to ease the burden. He pointed out that alternative source of transportation is also being provided through the waterways and boats will be supplied to the newly commissioned ferry point at Badore. A first class magistrate Court, according to him has also been commissioned at langbasa. In response to the request for a general hospital, he tasked the council of BAALES to put heads together and donate suitable lands worthy for constructing a General Hospital and a Mini Stadium for the community. He confirmed that the Bus Terminal being constructed in Ajah will be completed in 4months, this will help decongest the number of public buses parking indiscriminately on the roads and causing traffic. He congratulated the Chief host for his achievements, he enjoined the market owners to keep the environment clean always. He promised to ensure that a responsible level of governance is enshrined at the highest level of authority and the people will receive the dividends of democracy. On a final note, he urged the people to register for their PVC so as to enable them vote in the forthcoming elections.
The Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa local Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole gave the vote of thanks, he celebrated the governor and praised him for always given a listening ear to the several needs of the people of Eti-Osa and also acting positively towards fulfilling such needs. He thanked everyone for taking time to grace the occasion with their presence.
