LASG trains officers on project management

The Office of Establishments and Training, under the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, has organised a professional certification management training programme for some Civil Servants in Lagos State.

The Office of Establishments and Training, under the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, has organised a professional certification management training programme for some Civil Servants in Lagos State.

The five-day training programme with the theme: ‘Lagos State Project Management Professional’, which held between Monday, 25th October and is scheduled to eFriday, 29th October, 2021, had 20 participants drawn from different Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

According to a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs in the Ministry, Mr. Dele Balogun, the training was designed to give participants an insight into the field of project management with regards to conception, execution and monitoring and how the State Government will be represented on project-related activities.

He anticipated that the knowledge gained by the participants will assist them in project execution which will impact positively the various project investments of the State Government.

Balogun said the programme will also give participants an opportunity to become Certified Professional Managers as they will sit for the Project Management Professional Examination organised by Afrissance Consulting, an authorised training partner of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

“The participants, who are from Grade Levels 13 to 15, cut across all cadres in the State Public Service”, Mr. Balogun added.

Recall that the Administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had, since inception, embarked on a policy of mass training for Civil Servants with a number of those already trained, through physical training, webinar series and Learning Management System in Y2021, well above 30,000.
