Brazil beat Spain in extra-time for back-to-back men's football gold

After the game ended 1-1 in normal time, Malcolm raced onto a diagonal ball from Antony and got the better of Jesus Vallejo before driving the winner into the far corner in the 108th minute to ensure Brazil repeated their Rio 2016 triumph. Brazil’s Malcolm scored the winning goal in extra time to break the heart of Spain who came from a goal behind in the second half.

Brazil, the Selecao now won two back-to-back gold medals to equal arch-rivals Argentina who won in 2004 and 2008. The most successful team in Olympics football history, Hungary (three gold medals), won two medals back-to-back in 1964 and 1968.
