Between T B Joshua and Chris Okotie – By Balarabe Oshiafi

The Man whose photograph appears hereunder is Mr. Chris Okotie. Until this evening, I held him in a high esteem for two reasons: The first is his pop songs, like I need someone…, and a few others that I grew up to meet.

Secondly, his vocabs and capacity to deploy syntax to grammar construction.

All that has evaporated. Reason: His uncharitable comments on the internet about the passage of Prophet T B Joshua.

I did state in my earlier eulogy that those who are disparaging T B Joshua are just jealous.

Okotie has just brought out himself as one of them.

What God charges us to do is to pray for the repose of the Soul of the departed, not to judge.

By throwing tantrums at the revered TB Joshua, Okotie heretically took on the role of God and that in itself is a classical sin.

Any clear-headed Nigerian should recognise and appreciate that this Nation and indeed the world over has just lost a huge asset in TB Joshua, religious persuasion notwithstanding.

Just today, the Nigerian Parliament Honoured the departed Prophet with a minute silence and special letter of condolence to the government and people of Ondo State.

I’m not one to delve into the private lives of individuals, so I won’t refer to Okotie’s personal life. As a so-called Leader in God’s Vineyard, what impact has he made? In politics, he has lied severally about God asking him to come out and become the President of Nigeria. I can’t recall what Okotie has ever successfully pulled through in the medium run.

Although he is still alive, Okotie is already thinning into Oblivion, but T B Joshua’s impact will reverberate here and elsewhere for a long time even to the appreciation of posterity.
