Imam Tijani Adejare, Lagos House Chief Imam buried

The remains of the Chief Imam of Lagos House Mosque, Imam Tijani Ismail Adejare, have been buried.

Imam Tijani Adejare died on Friday, two weeks after he was involved in an accident where he sustained first-degree burns.

The accident occurred around Ikorodu involved a tanker driver laden with petrol which somersaulted in the process spilling its contents which resulted in an inferno that engulfed the cleric’s vehicle.

Imam Tijani sustained serious burns on his hands and legs as he struggled to get out of the burning car. He was admitted at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

He was said to be responding to treatment until his situation deteriorated on Friday resulting in his death.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Jebe, said the late Imam died on Friday.

His remains were conveyed to Oyo, his hometown late on Friday following which the burial was conducted on Saturday.

According to Jebe, further details about prayers for the repose of his soul would be announced later.
