President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has performed the lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and sustained prosperity.
The President undertook the spiritual exercise early Friday morning at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, where he circumambulated the Holy Ka’abah in an act of worship, devotion and thanksgiving to Almighty Allah for His blessings upon Nigeria and its people.
Speaking with journalists shortly after completing the religious exercise, Tinubu described the Umrah as significant, reaffirming his commitment to Nigeria, its people and the will of Almighty Allah.
He said the spiritual journey was an opportunity to pray for the country and seek divine guidance, protection and blessings for its leaders and citizens.
“I believe this Umrah is very significant for the love of our people, commitment to the job and our country, Nigeria; commitment to the will of Allah that His words must prevail, and that there’s no other God but Him and He’s the only one that makes a human being what he can be and what he would be in life,” the President stated.
Tinubu said he was grateful to Allah for the opportunity to perform Umrah, noting that prayers were offered for Nigerians to live in peace, harmony, happiness and faith in God.
The President also prayed for lasting peace, national cohesion and stability, urging divine guidance for the nation’s leaders and stronger bonds of brotherhood among Nigerians.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its security and developmental challenges and continue on the path of economic growth, social advancement and improved living conditions for its citizens.
