PRESS RELEASE: EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF OLORUNDA LCDA, HON. SAMSON FOLORUNSO OLATUNDE.

The time to evolve is here

1. Fellow progressive and resolute people of Olorunda,
It is with delight and a grateful heart that I welcome you all to the year 2020. It is a year I am very optimistic about as like every second we spend alive, it represents another very unique opportunity for us as a people, a blank canvass.

2. However, that salutation would amount to a disservice if I fail to appreciate the giant strides we have made in the last decade as a people. The best part of the last decade was spent by my predecessors putting pieces together to position our darling Local Council Development Area (LCDA) for greatness. I salute their courage and dexterity, we cannot but appreciate the sacrifices that *have* gone into it all.

3. In 2017, you the people decided in tandem with the will of the Almighty that it was my turn to serve you. I have never felt so humbled and privileged in my lifetime, and that explains how much I have put into every second of my day trying to ensure that I represent you in the best of ways. Believe me, I have never taken this mandate for granted.

4. From the inception, we decided as a government that for true growth to be achieved, we would have to make repeated and calculated sacrifices. Remember, our LCDA is a unique and budding one, complex, yet with abundance of promises. We have since retained the picture of those promises in our heart while we put in the work to make Olorunda LCDA great. Together with your unflinching support, it has been our strength.

5. So far, we have made giant strides, strides whose positive effects have strengthened us to go even further as a government. Strides with results that have encouraged us to soldier on. In the first two(2) years of this administration, we have dedicated our time and limited resources to either erecting or revamping infrastructures across the LCDA.

6. This exercise has helped us to touch many lives and sectors within a short time. In the Education sector, we have constructed:

The result has been remarkable and that is why we feel that at the moment, Olorunda Local Council Development Area is ready to evolve in the next decade.

14. To achieve this, we have to continue to unite our purpose; we have to be deliberate in our actions towards growth and we have to be very positive in every situation. Our evolution starts from our psyche and will only come to be if we are resolute and firm in our resolve.

15. Above anything else, I am confident in our potential as a people. What we have already survived together is a pointer that we can achieve anything.

16. Therefore, as I wish you a happy new year today, I also charge you to brace yourselves for the next level in our metamorphosis. The time for evolution is here and it begins with you and me.

17. With so much joy, excitement and optimism, I welcome you to the year 2020.

God bless Olorunda LCDA!
God bless Lagos State!!
God bless Nigeria!!!
