Hon Monsuru Ismail Applauds Renewed Hope Agenda, Backs Tinubu’s Continuity and Hamzat Ahead of 2027
The administration of the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Monsuru Akinloye Ismail, has taken another step towards strengthening grassroots governance with the official presentation of Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to political office holders serving in the council.
The presentation took place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Eredo LCDA Secretariat and was attended by political office holders, All Progressives Congress (APC) community stakeholders, youth and women representatives, as well as members of the press.
The occasion also provided an opportunity for the council administration to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his economic reform initiatives and what it described as increased financial resources available to subnational governments for development following the removal of the petroleum subsidy.
Speaking at the event, the Eredo LCDA Chairman said the provision of resources to the grassroots remains critical to effective governance, stressing that government policies and economic reforms must ultimately translate into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens at the community level.
The former Council Chairman, Hon. Saliu Adeniyi, alongside other political leaders at the event, also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the Federal Government’s efforts to redirect resources previously committed to petroleum subsidy towards developmental priorities.
Hon. Monsuru Ismail noted that although the removal of the petroleum subsidy has been a difficult economic reform, it has also increased the financial resources available to the three tiers of government through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
The Chairman, popularly known as Monsuru AKA Ọlọrun ju ẹda lọ, said the additional resources provide an opportunity for local governments and LCDAs to strengthen grassroots infrastructure, improve social services and implement projects that directly benefit residents.
He commended President Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to laying a stronger foundation for sustainable development and called for continued collaboration among the Federal, State and Local Governments.
Vehicles to Strengthen Grassroots Administration
The presentation of the official utility vehicles, according to the council chairman, was designed to improve the effectiveness of political office holders in carrying out their responsibilities.
He explained that the vehicles would facilitate official assignments, community visits, monitoring of development projects and closer engagement between government representatives and residents.
> “I cannot be everywhere, and that is the reason the political office holders exist within the people—to convey the requests and needs of the grassroots to the table of the Executive Chairman for necessary action,” Ismail said.
He urged the beneficiaries to regard the vehicles as instruments of public service and to use them responsibly for the advancement of Eredo LCDA and the welfare of its people.
Beneficiaries, including the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisors and Special Assistants to the Executive Chairman, expressed appreciation for the initiative.
They noted that effective grassroots governance requires public officials to remain physically connected to the communities they serve, adding that the provision of logistical support would enable them to discharge their administrative and public-service responsibilities more effectively.
The beneficiaries also pledged their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections and expressed their commitment to working for the success of the party.
Focus on Grassroots Development
The event also featured commendations for the leadership of Hon. Monsuru Akinloye Ismail and his administration’s efforts to strengthen the machinery of governance in Eredo LCDA.
The Chairman reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise projects and programmes addressing the immediate needs of residents, particularly in road construction, primary healthcare, education, youth and women empowerment, environmental health and sanitation, security, and agricultural support.
He stressed that the true measure of grassroots governance is the extent to which government policies, programmes and resources improve the everyday lives of the people.
2027: Eredo LCDA Backs Hamzat, APC
The council chairman subsequently turned attention to the 2027 general election, calling on stakeholders and residents of Eredo LCDA to support the continuation of the development agenda of the APC at both the Federal and Lagos State levels.
Ismail expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s continued administration and declared his commitment to the success of the APC and its candidates in the 2027 elections.
He particularly called for mass support for the APC Lagos State governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, urging stakeholders, party members and residents of Eredo LCDA to work collectively towards the party’s victory.
The Chairman said the council would continue to mobilise support for the APC’s candidates while ensuring that the benefits of governance remain firmly focused on the grassroots.
He concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance and sustainable development in Eredo LCDA.
