ORILE-AGEGE STEPS UP INFRASTRUCTURE DRIVE AS OKUNBANJO–SHOYINKA ROAD PROJECT BEGINS

ORILE-AGEGE, LAGOS — The infrastructure development drive of the Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, has received another boost with the commencement of construction works on Okunbanjo Street and its connection to Shoyinka Street in the Iyana-Ipaja axis of the council.

The projects, which followed a recent groundbreaking ceremony, are designed to improve road accessibility, drainage and connectivity within the community. The scope of work includes road construction, drainage gutters, interlocking and installation of streetlights, with completion targeted within 90 days.

Construction activities have commenced in earnest, with engineers and other workers fully mobilised to the sites to ensure timely delivery of the projects.

The Chairman has consistently prioritised projects that have direct and lasting impact on residents, particularly those aimed at improving mobility and enhancing the quality of life across the LCDA. He urged residents and other stakeholders to support the projects and protect construction materials and public infrastructure from damage or vandalism.

Residents have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the completed roads will ease transportation, improve accessibility and provide lasting relief for motorists, pedestrians and businesses within the surrounding communities.

The Okunbanjo–Shoyinka road projects are part of the council’s broader infrastructure development efforts under the administration of Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu. Residents of Dada-Akape, Egbatedo Phase 1 and Egbatedo Phase 2 are already enjoying improved road networks delivered by the administration as part of its commitment to providing tangible dividends of democracy.

Meanwhile, a stakeholders’ meeting was recently held in the Owolewa area of Oko-Oba, signalling another phase of infrastructure development in the community. Following the meeting, preparations are underway for the commencement of another road construction project, with the necessary equipment expected to be delivered shortly for the groundbreaking and subsequent commencement of work.

The development further underscores the administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across Orile-Agege LCDA and making the council area more accessible, connected and liveable for its residents.
