Thousands Gather for PBAT–KOH Interfaith Prayer as Clerics Seek Divine Support for Tinubu, Hamzat and APC Candidates
LAGOS, September 8, 2026 — The Lagos APC Grassroots Commanders on Tuesday demonstrated their growing grassroots strength as hundreds of its members stormed the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, for the PBAT–KOH Interfaith Prayer organised ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Identified by their distinctive green caps, members of the group were conspicuous throughout the gathering, joining thousands of APC supporters and party stakeholders who converged on the venue to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State and the success of APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The high-profile gathering attracted Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, APC Lagos State Chairman Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, Lagos APC governorship candidate Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other senior party leaders and stakeholders.
Representatives of the Christian, Islamic and traditional faiths offered prayers for the President and APC leadership, seeking divine wisdom, good health, peace, protection and electoral success for the party and its candidates.
Commanders Show Grassroots Muscle
The strong presence of the Lagos APC Grassroots Commanders added colour and energy to the gathering, with members turning out in large numbers from different parts of the state.
Their coordinated appearance and visible participation highlighted the organisation’s expanding grassroots network and growing role in APC mobilisation activities across Lagos.
The group used the occasion to reaffirm its commitment to taking the APC message deeper into communities and strengthening the party’s grassroots structures ahead of 2027.
Positioning for 2027
The Onikan mobilisation is being seen by members as another significant step in the group’s efforts to build a formidable grassroots network across Lagos State.
As preparations for the 2027 elections intensify, the Lagos APC Grassroots Commanders said they would continue to mobilise members, engage communities and support programmes aimed at strengthening the APC at the grassroots.
