The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) 2.0 has formally launched its structures in Kano State, with a massive political gathering at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, signalling an intensified grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The launch, led by the Convener of the Tinubu Support Group and Member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, attracted a mammoth crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, political leaders and members of various support groups from Kano and across the country.
The stadium was reportedly filled to capacity several hours before the commencement of the ceremony, underscoring the scale of the mobilisation.
Speaking at the event, Faleke expressed profound appreciation to the people of Kano State for what he described as their overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“My profound appreciation goes to the good people of Kano State for speaking loudly and clearly with one united voice. Your overwhelming show of support once again demonstrates that Kano stands firmly with the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Faleke declared:
“Asiwaju 2027 is non-negotiable! APC is Kano, and Kano is truly APC!”
He commended the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo; former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and, most importantly, the people of Kano State for their commitment, solidarity and support.
“By the special grace of Almighty God, Asiwaju 2027 is secured!” Faleke said.
FALEKE: TAKE TINUBU’S ACHIEVEMENTS TO THE GRASSROOTS
While inaugurating the national, state and local government structures of TSG in Kano, Faleke charged the newly appointed officials to commence immediate grassroots mobilisation for President Tinubu and other APC candidates.
He urged members to take the group’s activities beyond political rallies and into communities, stressing the need to communicate the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration directly to Nigerians.
According to Faleke, President Tinubu remains a “marketable product” whose administration’s achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda should be effectively communicated to voters.
He also challenged TSG members to explain the Federal Government’s fuel subsidy removal policy to Nigerians, particularly in response to opposition calls for its restoration.
Faleke maintained that subsidy removal was necessary to reset the Nigerian economy and urged members to engage citizens at the grassroots with facts about the policy and its implications.
He recalled that the Tinubu Support Group began mobilising for Tinubu’s presidential ambition as far back as 2020, at a time when his emergence as president was still uncertain.
He therefore warned the newly inaugurated structures not to become complacent because of the massive turnout recorded in Kano.
“The real task begins after the inauguration,” Faleke stressed, urging members to sustain continuous grassroots mobilisation.
NENTAWE: KANO TURNOUT SHOWS TINUBU’S GROWING ACCEPTABILITY
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout, describing it as evidence of growing support for President Tinubu in Kano.
He also welcomed several prominent politicians who defected from opposition parties into the APC, urging them to join hands with existing party members to secure victory for Tinubu in 2027.
“We are very happy with this unprecedented crowd. With this, we are very sure the coast is clear for President Tinubu to secure his second-term bid,” Nentawe said.
GOVERNOR YUSUF URGES KANO RESIDENTS TO SUPPORT TINUBU
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, said the massive attendance demonstrated the growing acceptability of President Tinubu’s candidacy across the state.
The governor said the Tinubu administration had made significant progress and deserved another term to consolidate its programmes and policies.
Yusuf urged Kano residents to support President Tinubu, as well as APC candidates contesting elections at the federal, state and local government levels.
He also highlighted federal projects, appointments and interventions benefiting Kano State, citing the Kano-Kaduna Expressway and other ongoing road projects as examples of the Federal Government’s investments in the state.
The governor challenged TSG members and other supporters to take the mobilisation beyond rallies and political gatherings by reaching communities across Kano State.
MASSIVE DEFECTIONS BOOST APC’S KANO MOBILISATION
The TSG 2.0 launch was further strengthened by the defection of several prominent political figures from opposition parties into the APC.
Among those received were former Senators Rufa’i Sani Hanga and Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, as well as Mas’ud El-Jibrin Doguwa.
Others included Ali Datti Yako, Deputy Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano; Badaru Umar, former Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area; Isyaku Ali Danja, former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly; and Yusuf Bello Danbatta, former PDP deputy governorship candidate.
Also joining the APC were Baraka Sani, former Special Adviser to the President; Abdullahi Zubairu Abiya, chairman of an NNPP faction; Abdulmajid Dauda Dandawaki, former NNPP senatorial candidate; alongside other political leaders and their supporters.
The high-profile defections, coming alongside the inauguration of TSG structures down to the local government level, point to intensified political mobilisation in Kano ahead of the 2027 elections.
TSG: SETTING THE PACE FOR 2027
Faleke reiterated that the massive Kano launch should not be viewed as an end in itself but as the beginning of a sustained grassroots campaign.
He charged TSG officials to remain active in their communities, engage voters continuously and mobilise support for President Tinubu and other APC candidates.
With the structures now established across Kano State, the Tinubu Support Group says it is ready to take its campaign for the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots.
