Mosan-Okunola LCDA, GIZ Flag Off 20-Day Digital Fashion, Marketing Training for Youth

The Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has commenced a 20-day digital fashion and digital marketing training programme aimed at equipping young people in the community with skills for employment, entrepreneurship and global market opportunities.

The Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has commenced a 20-day digital fashion and digital marketing training programme aimed at equipping young people in the community with skills for employment, entrepreneurship and global market opportunities.

The Executive Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, while speaking at the flag-off of the programme on Monday, August 31, 2026, urged youths to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the digital economy to build sustainable careers and businesses.

The Chairman stressed that digital technology has transformed the creative and business landscape, making it possible for young entrepreneurs to reach customers and markets around the world without leaving their communities.

According to her, digital fashion provides young people with opportunities to create, showcase and market innovative designs online, while digital marketing equips them with the skills to build brands, attract customers and generate income through digital platforms.

“Our youth are talented, creative and tech-savvy. Digital fashion allows them to design, showcase and sell to the world from right here in Mosan-Okunola. Digital marketing gives them the power to build brands, attract customers and earn income from their phones,” she said.

Hon. Akindele noted that the partnership with GIZ reflects the Council’s commitment to youth empowerment and economic inclusion, particularly through practical skills development, strategic partnerships and access to opportunities that can help young people turn their talents into viable sources of income.

She also called on parents, schools and community leaders to encourage young people to acquire relevant digital skills, noting that the future belongs to those who are prepared to take advantage of technology and innovation.

“The youth who master digital fashion and digital marketing today will be the employers of tomorrow,” the Chairman added.

She reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to building a digitally empowered Mosan-Okunola community where young people are equipped with the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
