Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Member of the House of Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, has commended the people of Osun State for their large turnout and peaceful participation in the 2026 governorship election.
Faleke, in a post-election statement, congratulated the Governor and candidate of the Accord Party, Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the democratic choice of the people of Osun State.
He wished Adeleke a successful second term and urged him to remain committed to promoting peace, progress and sustainable development across the state.
The federal lawmaker also commended the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, for what he described as a commendable performance, as well as his commitment, dedication and sportsmanship throughout the electoral process.
According to Faleke, the election demonstrated that democracy remains vibrant in Nigeria, while also highlighting the importance of respecting the will of the electorate.
He further commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for its commitment to democratic values and the sustenance of the electoral process.
Faleke also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the election and for what he described as its independence in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities.
He extended his appreciation to the security agencies and personnel deployed across Osun State, commending their professionalism in maintaining peace, security and order throughout the election.
The lawmaker, while congratulating the people of Osun State once again, applauded their resilience, peaceful conduct and commitment to democratic participation.
