The Distinguished Honourable Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, joined political leaders and stakeholders from across Nigeria at the formal inauguration of the Executive Committee of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja.
Sharing his participation on his official Facebook page, Faleke said it was a privilege to join well-meaning Nigerians, including top government functionaries, state governors, distinguished senators, members of the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly, traditional rulers, and other eminent personalities at the event held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
The grassroots mobilisation movement, founded and sponsored by High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), officially inaugurated its national executive committee as part of efforts to strengthen nationwide grassroots engagement and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Ekpemupolo, the inauguration marks another milestone in the movement’s mission to deepen grassroots mobilisation, promote civic participation, and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Delivering a goodwill message, the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, described President Tinubu’s reforms as critical to Nigeria’s long-term development, noting that meaningful national progress often requires difficult but necessary decisions.
“Nations do not become great because they avoid difficult decisions; they become great because they confront decisions with wisdom, patience and patriotism. Lasting progress is rarely achieved without temporary sacrifice,” Akpabio said.
He urged members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other support groups to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the country in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, said history would remember President Tinubu for pursuing bold socio-economic reforms despite the challenges involved.
According to the Speaker, the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, and implementation of comprehensive tax reforms reflected the administration’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for Nigeria’s economic future.
He stated that while the reforms required sacrifice, the country was already witnessing encouraging signs, including increased government revenues, renewed investor confidence, and improvements in fiscal management.
Abbas commended the Founder and Grand Patron of the movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, National Coordinator Sunday Asuku, Secretary-General Daniel Oluwatosin Dorcas, and the entire leadership for their commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, charged members of the movement to prioritise direct engagement with Nigerians at the grassroots, stressing that electoral victories are built through personal interaction with voters.
“Every door you knock on will become a vote; every heart you win will become a voice that will echo the Renewed Hope Agenda. Elections are not won on television or social media; they are won in marketplaces, communities and villages,” he said.
In the keynote address, Professor Bashir Makarfi of Bayero University, Kano, said the Tinubu administration’s reforms were beginning to produce visible outcomes, describing the country as undergoing significant transformation.
The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, also called on Nigerians to remain united in support of the administration, describing President Tinubu as a symbol of purposeful leadership.
The inauguration brought together political leaders, government officials, party stakeholders, traditional rulers, and supporters from across the country, reaffirming the movement’s commitment to expanding grassroots mobilisation and strengthening support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.
