The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today led the Council’s revenue team on the deployment of the Revenue QR Code system at Computer Village, Ikeja, marking another milestone in the Local Government’s drive to modernise revenue administration.

The exercise involved the installation of unique Revenue QR Codes on registered business premises as part of the Council’s automated revenue collection system. The initiative is aimed at enhancing tax compliance, improving monitoring and enforcement, and eliminating revenue leakages through a transparent, efficient, and accountable process.

Speaking during the exercise, Chairman AKOD called on traders and business owners to embrace the technology-driven initiative by paying all approved taxes and levies through authorised government channels. He stressed that increased internally generated revenue would enable the Local Government to deliver improved infrastructure, environmental sanitation, enhanced security, and other people-centred developmental projects across Ikeja.

The traders commended the initiative, describing it as a positive step towards a more transparent revenue system, and pledged their continued support and cooperation with the Local Government to ensure the successful implementation of the new QR Code platform.
